Having been shortlisted earlier in the year, Sentinel Subsea was chosen by a judging panel of 30 industry experts for its outstanding commitment to lowering risk, reducing costs, and protecting the environment with its advanced passive integrity monitoring solutions.

Designed to cover the entire lifecycle of wells from drilling to final abandonment, WellSentinel™ has garnered widespread attention. In recent years, the Aberdeen-based company has collaborated with Baker Hughes and has been deploying its WellSentinel™ technology across the globe, with offshore installations in Brazil, The Gulf of Mexico and Australia.

Hosted and organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Aberdeen Section the annual awards ceremony represents the pinnacle of achievement in an industry currently undergoing significant change in its focus and ambition.

The ‘Post-Commercial Deployment Technology’ category recognises excellence in innovative technological solutions developed in the UK for the offshore energy sector.

Receiving the award, Neil Gordon, CEO of Sentinel Subsea, said: “This is an amazing achievement for Subsea Sentinel – 2023 was a brilliant year for us and we have been deploying our technology across the globe, supporting operators from initial drilling right through to final abandonment and decommissioning. Additionally, last year saw us embark on a period of significant expansion for our passive monitoring solutions, expanding our capabilities beyond wellheads to producing subsea christmas trees.

“We are incredibly excited and proud to have received this recognition from the OAAs judging panel, particularly following our win in the Innovator category last year. We would like to thank Lorna Yuill and the Baker Hughes team for the continued support as we enter into a period of exciting growth for Sentinel and our passive subsea monitoring solutions.”

Incorporated in 2018, Sentinel supports operators across the globe in transitioning to a more sustainable future through risk management and subsea asset integrity monitoring.

The OAAs are the biggest and longest-established oil, gas, and renewable energy industry awards for the UK offshore sector, covering all aspects from supply to upstream operations and offshore renewables. For over three decades, the awards have been celebrating and encouraging innovation and collaboration in the oil and gas industry in the North Sea.
